COSSE (France)

Oscillating between lush post-rock and noise, Cosse deal in intertwining harmonies and flowing magma-like rivers of feedback that swallow the listener in their dense cloud. Packed with the echoes of raw vocals—which, when not chanting, are whispering—their music has an inherent sensibility and a shocking fragility. Influences including Gilla Band, Slint and Sonic Youth are obviously close at hand, making the quartet a band who, if you listen carefully, will leave you deeply moved.
The four piece released their debut EP Nothing Belongs to Anything in 2020 via French independent labels À Tant Rêver du Roi and Grabuge Records, and they’ve since shared the stage with Lysistrata, Mothers, Bruit, GGGOLDDD, and Chiyoda Ku, as well as appearing at Hellfest 2022.
Their ambitious debut album It Turns Pale was recorded at Katzwijm Studio in the Netherlands under the guidance of their long-term producer Floyd Atema, and it was released in February 2023 via NMAS.

GUILLOTINE SPRING

Guillotine Spring, the psych-folk rock ensemble risen from the ashes of acclaimed Rise Above Records’ sextet, Galley Beggar, is poised to release their debut album, 'Eclosion', on the upcoming Vernal Equinox, 20th March 2024.

Maria O’Donnell and Mat Fowler’s new project, Guillotine Spring continues to seamlessly blend elements of traditional folk song within their own compositions.

Joined by Kirsteen Bristow (Drums) and Donald Smith (Bass) to complete the 4-piece line-up, they are touring to promote their debut album ‘Eclosion’. A symbol of rebirth and renewal – the album promises a journey that mirrors the changing seasons.

PLATZWAVE

My first involvement into music as a hobby was being introduced to DJing after intentionally being mainly a fan of Guitar based music.

A friend and I bought our first set of Turntable’s and a 2 channel mixer around 93. We were Heavily into Drum&Bass and Hardcore at that time.

We’d make regular visits to Soho to try to get our hands on the latest releases and spent many years on working on sets.

Over the years I slowly moved my energy into bands and in the mid-late 90s started playing Bass guitar in a rock band with some local friends.

I also wanted to get into electronic music production but had no guidance and no idea where to start. I ended up reading a lot of music production magazines and ended up purchasing an SP-303 in about 1999.

This was a useful tool and helped me start putting ideas together for some of my earliest electronic/dance music ideas.

I also started using the SP-303 in our band. Firing off random samples and building intros to some of our tracks.

Slowly over the years, I started building up a collection of synths and drum machines and then started focusing on Cubase. ( which I still use today)

Fast forward till now, I started to put my electronic music out under “PlatzWave” as of 2020 when I finally got time to focus on putting an album together.

My first Album “Platz*Wave” had a track played on BBC 6 Music on Tom Ravenscroft and my following EP got picked up by BBC Introducing. Since then other albums and EPs have been picked up by BBC6 Music , Rinse FM and other stations / DJs.

I am currently working on playing out live with a sampler based set up and am also working on a new Album due out this Summer 2024
